it’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—change the world， change ourselves.

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day， while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ，because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.

frankly speaking， i don’t quite agree with ed， we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. （examples） why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.

there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand， some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful， such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand，the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend，chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.

with the further development of the whole world， the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations， but we are the citizens of the same world， so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture？ the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

at last i’d like to share a famouse saying of gandhi with all of you ，that is：if you want to change the world， then you must change yourself first.”

Good morning,my name is xx，22 years old, born in province. It is really a great honor to have this opportunity for an interview, I would like to answer whatever you may raise, and I hope I can make a good performance today! Now I will introduce myself briefly by three aspects: Strength; Weakness and Achievements!

Strength:

I feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a job and it turns out just as I’d planned. I’ve set some high goals for myself. For example, I want to graduate with highest scores. And at last, I become one of the outstanding graduates in Chong Qing University after a lot of study. Besides, I am good at building mathematical models and analyzing questions with economic methods.

Weakness:

I'm such a perfectionist that I will not stop until a job is well done.

Achievements: I had acquired the first prize by designing models on Mathematical modeling in 20xx; besides, I had help my teachers to analyze the Warrant pricing by varieties methods.

I’m convinced that I can go farther and make greater contribution for my country by careful process of learning, please give me this chance to study in this great university---LiGong University! I promise, I will use my whole ability to improve myself and get the primary accomplishment in my major and do a useful man for our school!

Personally, for today's China, the foundation of the development of Economic is the advancement of transportation equipment. That’s to say, we should do our best to make contribution to improve our transportation equipment to ensure the development of Economic.

Only when our transportation equipment is great enough, our economic can get big achievement.

Chinese traditional festival is an important part of traditional Chinese culture and expression form.It shows the spirit of the Chinese nation in the world and expresses the quest for better vision, wisdom and ethics .In the world today,cultural exchange between East and West.So it is very important for us to use the ideas and perspectives of modern society to reveal the intrinsic value of traditional cultures.And Traditional Chinese Festival is one of the major carriers.

As we all know ,there are so many traditional festivals ,including the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Ching Ming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chung Yeung Festival and so on .Every festival has its special meaning and represents our great traditional Chinese culture.Such as ,spring festival .It is very important to our Chinese people just as Christmas to western ,In this festival every family member will gather together and do something special ,like make dumplings,set off firecrackers dragon play and so on .The spring festival composed the chapter which the entire family reunion and discards the old for the new.

In my opinion ,traditional festival has three meanings .Firstly, in these traditional festivals, it is easy to arouse the emotion to the family, to the hometown and to motherland.People will be more united through those festivals.Secondly , traditional festival is the expression of culture and implies a unique understanding of the history and value.Thirdly ,traditional festival reflects the value concept and ideological mode of Chinese nation.And what's more ,it has showed the world ,our Chinese people are simple ,warm and industrious.

So let's treasure our traditional festivals and flourish it to the world .

We all know Tagore.This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

Do you often use batteriesThen do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produceAnd just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessaryIf possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.

Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling

center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

The pressure from college students is getting greater, they should relieve it now and then, because too much pressure will bring bad effect, some may distort thEir minds, once their emotion can’t relieve in time, some tragical things may happen. It is said that some students suicide themselves because they have much pressure. Everybody will have pressure, but we must know that pressure brings motivation, at the same time, it also brings burden, we have to balance it. When we deal with it well, we can live a better life.
